Nirn

Nirn

Mundus and Nirn - V.Fetiskin 2009
Nirn -  (believed to mean ‘Arena’ in Old Ehlnofex) is the only habitable planet. It floats in the void of Oblivion and is, for all intents and purposes, the majority of the realm known as Mundus. You’ll hear people merge the distinguishes between Nirn and Mundus, but, despite the resemblance of theirs, they are different. Our planet was created during the Dawn Era by the Aedra and Anu-aligned spirits, based on Lorkhan’s inspiration and the God of Sorcery, Magnus’ designs. Since then it has fallen and prospered, grown and shrunk during the dark and holy ages of men and mer.

Tamriel is the biggest and most civilized continent of Nirn, it’s mythic and symbolic center. Other continents are Akavir to the east of Tamriel, land of vampiric serpent-like creatures, the Tsaesci. Atmora is to the north, homeland of the ancestors of Nords and Northmen. Yokuda is to the west, homeland of Redguards, but is believed it sank to the sea.

Mundus - Imperial Archives
Nirn has two satellite-moons, Masser and Secunda. The other astral bodies above Nirn are spheres of the Aedra and Daedra, and the suns and stars form constellations. The following schemes show Nirn, moons and the surrounding planets
